First Step on a New Platform
As I have written many times before, every journey has a first step. I have started multiple blogs and several podcasts. Today I poke my head out the door and plant my flag here on Substack.
1. Why This and Why Now
I think the time is ripe to have conversations about how faith has let us down. We’ve been sold the idea that all we have to do is find our true purpose, take a step of faith, and life will seemingly unfold for us like magic. This has never been my experince. Far from it.
My story contains years of believing in myself, taking great risk, and experiencing fantastic amounts of failure. Lots of doubt and tons of self-loathing. Many days I think “I was better off staying at my old job.” Sure, I have plenty of regrets. I’ve lost count of how many rabbit trails I followed that petered out to nothing.
All the success books you find at the bookstore tell you to persevere, get in line, pay your dues. Quitters never win, and winners never quit. All that. I would love to tell you I found answers that worked. Instead I only found more questions. This substack tackles the tough issues of how to maintain your sanity and stay true to yourself when your best efforts fail badly.

3. Posting Frequency
I would like to post weekly. I am still exploring what features I have at my disposal here on the platform. Sure, some posts will be written. If possible, some will be video posts. I will try to post on a certain day of the week, if that sort of thing is helpful. I have not landed on what day of the week this will be, so give me some time on this. I am supposed to tell you what free subscribers receive and then differentiate what the paid subscribers will receive. Again, I am still working on the paid side. In the meantime, I think I will build my base of subscribers.
